What Beginners DON'T Need

One of the biggest mistakes new riders make is thinking they need race-level equipment.

For your first track day, you probably do NOT need:

❌ Tyre warmers

❌ A race bike

❌ Slick tyres

❌ Race fairings

❌ Lap timers

❌ Fancy suspension upgrades

❌ Engine mods

❌ Thousands of dollars worth of accessories

Focus on learning and having fun.

The Night Before

Use this quick checklist:

✅ Charge your phone

✅ Pack your gear & essentials

✅ Load your bike

✅ Check event entry times

✅ Set your alarm

Try to get a good night's sleep. The track will still be there tomorrow.

On Arrival

If it's your first track day, ai` to arrive early.

This gives you time to:

  • Sign on
  • Find your pit area
  • Complete scrutineering
  • Attend the rider briefing
  • Meet other riders
  • Ask questions

Remember: everyone was a beginner once.

You don't need the fastest bike, the latest gear, or years of experience to enjoy a track day. A well prepared bike, the right gear, and a positive attitude is all you need. The goal of your first track day isn't to set lap records, it's to learn, build confidence, and have fun.

See you at the track. 🏁💜
